Water in cab ? - potential purchase - 08'

Guys... thinking about looking at an 1986 08'....

Found this interesting.... see the fluid discolor (leak) on the rear floor where the cab meets the bed.

Rear window or door seal you think? Should i be concerned ? Almost as if the seat is leaking.

Looks like the guy had something in the back of the cab that spilled, like an oil treatment or something like that... Have you actually looked at it or just going by pictures?

Doing my due diligence requesting pictures before i make the 3+ hour drive to go look at it.

I agree with HW. I've had a bottle of oil or fuel treatment fall over and leak or seep a little bit behind the seat of pickups. Where abouts in Wisconsin are you? And where is the 1008 located?

From the pic only obvious thing is that the resistor has been bypassed. Which is a sign the owner new a little something about the truck and most likely treated her right.
How much do you know about these trucks is probably what you should be asking before jumping in with both feet. Not trying to scare you but these trucks take some TLC and a user that knows something about them because most auto repair places do not.

Although a younger pup (28.....not so young i guess) but a grease monkey who liked math? I've also been 3 years since my last project.... I need something to get dirty with again...

So what better then an uber snow killer, wood hauler, and something to always tinker with.

The other projects look great, The body looks solid with little rust, this truck looks as good as any that you will find. some of the dates of the pics are a little old. The box hanging under the dash is the glow plug controller card which appears to have some added wiring.

Yea I just asked for the pictures today specifically of the tray areas after the motor shot... must be the date coder on the camera (battery died and never rest.... so I hope.) Wires coming out of the card... should i expect a glow bypass switch then?

Check the driveshaft make sure its not bent and the connection between the transmission and the transfer case. DRMOs are notorious for moving trucks with a forklift.

I had no interest in swiping it out from under you. I meant if it was near Eau Claire I'd be willing to check it out for you in person, make sure it's worth the long trip. I don't have money to be buying much of anything let alone another CUCV.
