Weasling in with an Army CJ5 rebuild

On my CJ5 with 232, I went with the Petronix electronic kit to install in the stock distributor and got rid of the Carter YF carb and replaced it with a Weber.

I tried to rebuild the Carter and it didn't run much better. From the research I've done, the Carter is temperamental and not a very good carb. The Weber was a good upgrade.

There are some other things to help a '74 232 run better but they will violate emission regulations.
