My sweet lady @IRIS_Always have been looking for something for her and to teach the oldest boy to drive on.

We looked all over but our conversations kept coming back to the CUCVs and 1967 M715 at @Csm Davis place.

We went and looked at them last Sunday and decided we wanted to pull the trigger on the M715.

Here she was as we found her:








So, I've spent a week more or less daydreaming about recovering her! We took off this am at 0330 and headed out! (Of COURSE it was below freezing, because that is the best way to recover a vehicle!)

We got there a little after daylight and I backed down to her and we loaded.












We got her up the hill and finished prepping for the trip home:

I got home, and as promised, found the new wiring harness from Vintage



New plugs and wires



And the thing that made me almost as happy as a boy can be:



A physical -34 TM!

She will be moved to the shop with Ethel and between the two of them, I have my work cut out for me for the next several months!

Not sure where it came from. I know it was registered privately in Louisiana to an Air Force veteran most recently.

The winch is hydraulic. The truck was used as a fire department truck at one point hence the rear spots and red lights. The winch is also mounted in dual receivers and can be moved from the front of the truck to the back!

Jeff is feeling better and is his usual jolly self!

Gotta love an M715, high on my list of favourite vehicles!
Looks nice and complete, with only a few civilian embuggerations to undo. Lucky you got that hood-mounted blackout light, that's usually one of the first things fire departments do away with.

Looking forward to watching this one progress.

That back left axle on the trailer in the last picture doesn't look too healthy.

It's angled out for "recovery racing". A sport at Southern Rallys that Ken hosts!
