Well, even after I said I would never own a 900 series truck,my first one is sitting in the backyard keeping the others company.

I made a quick trip to Alabama on Friday and bought Wreckerman's 915A1 and drove it home,Murphy must have thought he would have more fun in Bama, cause we had no problems what so ever.

Wreckerman really gave me a good deal on a great truck.

Sorry,no pics,I realized I forgot the camera while I was sitting in Atlanta traffic at 5 PM on a Friday afternoon.

I think someone snapped a few pics earlier today at Wreckerman's Spring Fling.

Now I gotta get the truck prepped for it's voyage to Blackstone VA to pick up a M172A1 lowboy.

Who knows,I may drive it to Aberdeen.

You will LOVE the M915A1. I know I do mine! It just needs creature comforts like A/C and a radio, which I am in the middle of installing. I know the M172 is intended to go with the M916, but it goes great with the 915 as well, see pic . . . WM, sorry you had to part with Jessica, but another sweet girl will come along.

o man I need a tetanus shot just looking at her, the only thing holding her together is the bird droppings.
Actually it is not nearly as bad as it appears.......the only cancer was on the drivers side hood panel.....the rest is surface rust....since she made a trip to the Sandbox I suspect she may have gotten some salt water on her during the journey.

I never thought I would hear myself type this:cookoo:...but Wreckerman is actually a pretty good troop....DAM THAT HURT!!!

Since she actually served overseas WM/AMG...I would say she deserves an attagirl and some TLC.

Don't sweat the cosmetics. Those who would talk her down without using her overseas where the action is prolly is just blowing smoke.
Blow it off like the desert sand or sea salt prolly did the paint on Jessica and drive on troops.

I'm glad ya got her AMG...now you can haul stuff here....whatcha ya got I want??

Trust me PB,I'll have enough stuff for you to haul home from the GA rally:mrgreen:
Cosmetics will be fixed soon,I have a case of 383 CARC here to do some touch up painting anyway.

NDT,I do have a question,I am getting a 172A1 to pull behind the 915,does the trailer ride level behind a 915 or does the deck run downhill towards the tractor?

Alright, stupid question time:
Does this truck have 6-wheel drive, or is it only the rear four that have diffs?
Like I said, even a bright shinny penny like me, being devestatingly hansome I might add with my fresh summer haircut that helps blend in the bald spot, sometimes doesn't know the obvious...
No comments from the peanut gallery, please. I just thought I have seen them both with and without diffs in the front on GL.

Sweet, a high speed road tractor. If my insticts serve me right, Brandon might even be interested in a FWTD if anyone has one, perfect truck for it's use.

Slopes towards the tractor just a little. Same as with a M818.

Nice MV addition

Congrats on the big acquisition! If I get one of those, I can recover just about any truck without needing to have my wife in tow

I knew I shoulda stopped in to see some of the SS folks while I was in Alabama. Who knows what I might have been able to towbar home!

Let's see those pics.

Well, just a few pics of this evening's work on the 915,just adjusted brakes, topped off the trans oil and started replacing the quarter fender.

I also found a replacment air horn(5th picture) and figured out what that was that the fuel lines flowed through under the cab(4th picture),it's a coolant type fuel heater.

I did some research on transmission oil and Allison reccommends ATF,30W or 10W oil as ling as it meets C-4 specs for transmission oil.I plan on using Castrol Trans C30 for now,it has better shear qualities than ATF,plus it's what I'm using in the M211 trans anyway.

Stop whining

In the words of a old, old dude......"Take good care of my baby".

OK...I changed the quote a little...HEE HEE:evil:

I saw the pics of "Jessica" at AMG's place and well...I could be wrong...but I would almost swear she was...er....smiling???

I suspect while she was at WM's AO she detected the distinct odor of the red-wrench-death that pervades the AO and realized she has escaped that fate as well as the dreaded "alternative fuel disease" that countless other trucks have lost their lives to.

Kinda reminds me of that movie...The Great Escape:nothingfunny:
