What am I looking at? AMPHIBIAN based on M274A1 Mule

Found this just up the street, just pulled out of the barn a couple weeks ago. Mule tags but I can’t find anything else like it. They’re asking $3500 what do you guys think???

Awesome. I'm guessing that it's a homebuilt, but I don't know. I do know that it's pretty sweet, though.

The first two pictures tell the story. No not home built. It's something pre NSN, as the FSG has no 00 in it. The data plate has an acceptance stamp, so it's milatary. Will look for it later, it's Christmas here, (23rd) in Germany.

You, Sir, in my humble opinion, have found a RARE PIECE OF MV HISTORY calling out for acquisition, recovery, AND restoration!!!

As already stated by others, I am not familiar with this swimmer, but will certainly be looking up and and all that I can find about it as soon as I can.
A "reasonable price" may be a difficult thing to establish. I would certainly make the owner aware of your interest and that you're doing your homework before negotiating a price.

Home built. That is a standard FSN for a regular M274A1. There was an M275A5 based Amphibian built by BMY. Posts are on G503 about it, I will try to find a link after the holiday.

After looking for an hour, yes, got to admit, its not what the data plate lists. So got to be home built. And a fine job at that!

hhmmm, must have floated and boated--looks like boat registration marks on side.
A lot of work went into that, good work by the looks of it. Wow, that does look like fun.
