Checked the winch and found one side totally empty, no lube in there at all. The other side just barely had any in it. Decided to do the John Deere Corn Head grease thing. Put 3 tubes in each side. Pulled the cable out and spooled it back in a few times. Seems to work just fine. No weird noises or anything. Green grease for a green truck seems like a good combo!

Towards the bottom. That's what I paid at the local dealer.

Wish I would have had an air or electric grease gun. Wow, my hands are sore after emptying 6 tubes of it! I took the nipple end off the grease gun. Pumped the first tube up from the bottom, then the other 2 from the top. 3 tubes seemed to get everything pretty well covered in there. When or if my steering box starts to leak, I'll put it in there too.

What did I do to the Duece today? Decided to keep it but have to devise an air clutch activator. Any & all ideas welcome & appreciated.

Beat the major dents out of the hood, painted the front rims, installed new hood hold-down hooks, scored on 3 jerry cans with a donkey dong for a total of $15 on Craigslist and the dude was a normal human being, not some crack head selling stuff to maintain his habit! Two of the Jerry cans are 'Nam era, with one having the Marine Corps unit shield still visible on the side. I'm still shaking my head on that one.

Discovered the infamous rusted out j-pipe problem, so I ordered a new OEM pipe from realcustomtrucks, good price.

How was it? I am looking at 1,500 mile ride and not sure what to expect.
Not too bad. You should be able ( or I can) do 600 miles or better at a time. If you haven't done it already, now is the time to do a seat upgrade. I forgot my butt cushion and I'm still paying for it. Seat upgrade has been moved up on my list.
