We were at the Skyline chili in Fayetteville, they have the best 3/4ways. And for some reason I prefer Gold Star cheese coneys, weird.

View attachment 830532 View attachment 830533 Dipstick, I modified this M52/54 air cannister to fit my M35A2 with the idea that I'll replace the LDT engine with an LDS engine down the road. All the parts used are GI with exception of the 4 1/2 Dia. flex hose B/T the turbo and canister pipe. If your interested I'll post the rest of the pictures. I have about 10,000 miles on this mod. with no problems. Also Big Mike's Motor Pool has Bobber weight & dimension data plates available. Check em out.

Thanks for the pics Tracer! Boy, that thing is huge! I remember seeing a picture on the Memphis Equipment website for a similar but smaller unit on a Deuce. It had a regular mushroom inlet on top of the filter housing and the outlet to the turbo was on the back of the filter housing. I'm going to put that on my dream list. Thanks for the info on the bobber data plates as well.

Today, I discovered that my battery mount u-channels were partially corroded all the way through. Rust holes that is. Not structurally sound. Bummer. I'm either going to buy one or fabricate one. I had to use my cut off wheel and a chisel and hammer to cut off the four nuts that hold it onto the frame brackets. The new nut splitters I just got proved to be as useless as rubber teeth. I get my new batteries from NAPA tomorrow. I still have to paint the metal parts. At least I'm making progress.

A 3 way is pasta chili and cheese, a 4 way has beans on it too. Fayetteville is 45 minutes north in Ohio at state routes 68 and 50

My new batteries. Ain't they purty! So beautiful I want to put them in my living room. Had to order steel c-channel for the battery mount online at Metals Depot today. The local hardware places don't have the right sizes. The true cost of owning a Deuce. Time, materials, parts and etcetera! I like onions, but I agree you taste them for a long time.

The batteries you have are neat. Mine didn't come with any handles.
Had to hustle them where they needed to go - without pinching any fingers...

I agree with you about the true cost of ownership!

Seems that every job on anything green is always different than planned.
Either I find something else that needs my attention right away or that something new goes on my "to to" list on every project.
Owning one though is a labor of love. (Wow - did I actually say that!?!??)

Dipstick, do you have the Battery Retainer that goes on top of the batteries? The retainer helps to keep things secure. If not, Battery Retainer. NSN 6160-00-404-2669. Part # A52505-C. You will also need, Hook Bolt. Qty. 5. NSN 5306-00-739-7754, Part # 7397754. Great Looking Batteries.

Queen Lola is home from 5 months in storage. It is OFFICIALLY Spring now.
She started right up - as if she had run only yesterday. Slow fuel drip from a fitting at the secondary filter (which I should have fixed last Fall but didn't). Runs like a champ. 50 mph at under 2000 rpm (gotta love the Waterloo overdrive).

Aside from PMCS, I have a filter base and filter hanging around to do a coolant filter setup. Also have a set of Canadian rims (somewhat similar to the A3 rims) with Michelins. The rims are leaky and all need to be disassembled, cleaned, serviced with new O-rings and put back together. Stuff to do!

Yeah, yet another Deuce project spiraling out of control. I actually ordered new steel c-channel and flat stock so I could make a new battery support frame. And the beat goes on. Labor of love? More like a sickness. Got my second Covid shot at the VA yesterday.

I have a nice grade here in the neighbourhood; about a mile long and a good 200ft elevation change. Known as "The Hill". I run this in 5th, boost goes up to 10-12, EGT climbs to 1000-1050 but no downshift required. Yes, I am bragging!
It is an excellent place to detect that the protective sleeve for an electrical wire is touching the exhaust manifold. Ah, the sudden delicious smell of burning plastic!

Cousin gave me a small gas powered generator 5kw that he bought 20 years ago. He said it would not start or run without the choke on now and that he has ran it once....one time in 20 years....and cannot get it going now. I thought for sure it would be old gas that became varnish as the problem, but research online found that they all had carb problems. There was probably even a recall that he missed. I found that brand new carb with the problem resolved, was only 16 bucks....wow.

It's rather small but could be tucked into the space between my cab and bed. Even an electric starter is available for 45. I'll have to make a new enclosure, but it will fit my space.

So I'm on the fence. Do I install in the deuce to have auxiliary ac on this work truck or not?
