Finished painting my truck Friday, and I think I found out my problem with the behr paint. I was using the plain, old, flat, paint. This time I got behr with satan finish, whole different animal. I purple powered the underside twice and power washed twice. It has a little more shine than I'd like, but if it washes up easier. I'll take it.

I am definitely going with satin paint if I redo the truck. More weather resistant, and like you said easier to clean.. I hate the fact that if I so much as TOUCH the flat Behr paint on my truck it shows a mark. Really frustrating!!! My '66 Ford Fairlane is painted with satin paint, and it is SOOOOO much better than flat paint. Looks better too.

I did a little work to the old hood I took off my truck. I cut out all the insulation pins that were welded to the inside. With child-proofing done, I tossed it in the yard and told the youngins to have at it.

The youngest (Brayden) thought it made an excellent trampoline. The oldest (Brody) was telling him "STOP! YOU'RE GOING TO BREAK THE CAVE!"

Good times, lol.

It had a dent on the passenger side with a crappy Bondo job that was falling apart. I won a couple of new ones for cheap so the old one got swapped out.

I thought it was the other way around. I've had a Devil of a time keeping rust at bay, lol.

I am definitely going with satin paint if I redo the truck. My '66 Ford Fairlane is painted with satin paint, and it is SOOOOO much better than flat paint. Looks better too.

The old house painting rule for spaces like kitchens and bathrooms is to NEVER use flat paint in those areas.

The reason is that the flat finish is not as durable as the other finishes (satin, semi-gloss, up to gloss); and even satin is suspect there; you know, just for record. I mean "durable" in regard to cleaning that is.

Hate rust!!!! I had to keep digging at it :0. I guess I'll fix it the best I can. Then re-cab it in a year or two. Did find this while cleaning the instrument panel. It was way up on top of the wire bundle. My truck is a 1990, the badge is 1989. Cool huh?

Found out my wrecker makes a terrible land ship, I found a soft spot in my backyard thanks to all the rain. Got a local SSer to break in his virgin RRAD wrecker to get me out. These beasts are seriously under rated for what they do but we need to turn up the fuel on them still. Thanks Jim! BTW all photos were taken after we were half way out.
