Well you can't find out what it is capable of unless you push it. It was my first time using a winch and man was I glad that the truck had it.

10-4. Did it deliberately to have a better idea of what the truck can and can not do. Now will drain or at least check all fluids and bearings for water, but it was a blast! Hats off to WildChild467, the guy jumped out of his truck, into the mud, and did all the work, pulling 180' feet of cable through yuck to a tree base. I stayed in my warm dry cab like I was at a drive-through oil change. Bough him lunch.

It's at the Azusa OHV park. I don't know what I would have done without the winch. What I did learn is not to mess around where I might get stuck without having some friends around that have big trucks.

Upgraded to a spin-on oil filter and changed the oil. Thanks for the adapter Scar59!
Sealed front windshields between glass and frame.
Replaced wood strips between bed and frame and replaced the bed bolts.
Replaced leaking heater hose valves.
Replaced passenger seat latches.

Finally gave the Beast some love again.
I brought the beast home for the day so I could work on it and get ready for a end of the season car/truck show on Sunday so I finally got my butt in gear and installed a high-back Bostrom seat (not sure of the model as I picked it up at a garage sale but it's a fixed back model) in place of the OEM seat that was pretty well worn out and did not support me at all.

Then I installed the rifle mounts I've had waiting to be installed for close to 4 or 5 months
on the drivers side door. View attachment 523669 and the passenger side dash View attachment 523670 Those "blind nuts" were a pain to install without the proper setting tool but eventually got them to seat.
and then I remounted my antenna to the passenger side on the cargo bed so I could effectively use a tie-down on it as I didn't care for it on the fender.

I still have a mount on the fender which I will re-purpose to mount a true Ham radio antenna.

Good deal, now track your milage and engine time. Oil analysis in your next step. As long as you get good oil spec feedback readings, just change the filter and add a little oil. It will save you a lot on oil changes.

Friday night I made up a heavy duty flag pole and put up a good quality 3x5 flag to withstand high winds at 50 mph.On Saturday morning I got to be part of my local little league football teams pep rally and then got to escort them through town on the way to their Superbowl game.Unfortunately they lost but it was a great game and another great year.

M925 changed the Trans. pan cork out for the Napa gold #1892. Nice rubber gasket and picked up a can of high tac spray to hold the gasket in place for install. Cross patern to snug then 120 inch pounds to finish. Easy as 123. Drain pan then I found it easer to loosen the dip stick tube where it goes into the pan first then I took off the 3/4 bolt that holds the tube to the side of the trans through the trap door. I am running 10wt. and will stick with that as my trans. has no problems as of yet. Napa does sell a 10wt fluid now but only in 5 gal. pails.

Air dryer replacement today. M925 Thanks Suprman for the PURest air dryer. Was just three easy holes to drill and all air lines and elect. a direct fit. My truck is airing up alot faster.
Also washed the M816 for the meet at Mt. Dora this weekend.

Rebuilt the fan clutch on the truck and also a spare that I have. The one on the truck works like new now and the spare worked perfect during a bench test. Glad all the air leaks have finally stopped. I'm sure the compressor is happy now.
Replaced the external transmission filter and resealed the leaking PTO cover plate.

I finally got to installing the hemtt rims and 1600 xzl . Pulling the thimble caps was a bit of a pain some snapped the ends off so welded the nuts to the ones that did to get them off . Very happy with the ride pulls hard still a bit more down shifting . I used Alcoa 5995 recessed nuts .. so no need to change the studs .

When I first bought my truck, I had removed the left fuel tank and installed an under-bed tool box. I later decided to re-install a left fuel tank so the tool box became surplus and I was once again lacking storage space. Well, with the new drop-side bed installed, I finally decided to put the box in the bed centered against the front bulkhead. I gave it a good scuff sanding, a coat of 686 Sand and installed it using some excess fiberglass troop seat slats for stand-off.
With the taller tailgate and an addition of a third handle/foot step, I cored two holes centered in the rear of the bed just ahead of the tailgate in order to store my aluminum boarding ladder. A couple of GI cargo straps looped around the third handle and one of the ladder steps, the ladder stores nice and snug. The ladder is now easily accessible when I drop the tailgate and much easier to put into service.

I finally went out to "temporary storage" and got a few things done. Was extremely happy that everything went without a hitch.
1-Finally put the front top shackles on,looks much better to me!
2-rebuilt the primer pump,extremely easy;Note they are 1/2" flat rubber washers x 2
3-installed 2 new headlights
4-swept and drained the bed,not a big deal but work
5-Found a cold leak on a lower rad hose tightened
6-Found some numbers on that leaking upper rad elbow, Hopefully these help some people out.
7-Got the girl started,still missing the ether solenoid, but was surprised she started without it.
