You are correct. There won't be anything hooked up to it though. This is the first thing I've added to the truck that actually serves no useful purpose. This was strictly for the nostalgia of the truck, given its history in service.
You'll hear no argument from me. I like the looks of antennas as well. :goodjob: Where did you get it? I've been looking for just an AS-3449 element. I have one, but I need a pair for a project.

I got mine from the Sportsmans Guide link several posts back. It's always my luck that something pops up cheaper after I buy it though. There are some in the classifieds and on Ebay now with better prices, even after the discount I got.

Did it thread onto a standard nato base, just like mine that comes on a M939 truck, with the longer antenna?

Got my antenna mounted. Perfect length for the woods and it's fairly stout as far as antennas go. It came in the biggest box ever though, which included a pallet. :mrgreen:

I don't. If I come across another one though I'll let you know. Going to see my surplus guy Friday. I got mine from him.

I've never had a standard base in my hands so I'm not sure. The 4 holes in the base did match the mount holes though. I'll take some pictures tomorrow, along with the others you wanted.

Replaced two wedge/spring assemblies. Replaced a brake can tube. Snapped off some how. Few air lines took a hit. Slowly working my way thru getting rid of the flared compression air line fittings. Replaced my front shocks. Measured for adding shocks to my rear axles.

What are you replacing the fittings with? Where do you plan to locate the shocks?

Pulling all the fittings and going to a flare and a cotton jacket hose. Same thing the front brake hoses are made of. Done the same thing to a few of the smaller ones on the service brakes.


Shocks im looking towards the rear of the spring brake can on the drivers side and to the opposite service brake can. I didn't have a good shock to mock up so I am going to work on it more when I get back from down in your neck of the woods this weekend.

Is that JIC hydraulic fittings & hose your using ?

The reason I asked is because in that second pic you posted, those fittings aren't crimped.
One piece screws on counterclockwise to the hose then the second part screws into the first.

Post some pics when you get them swapped over.

I believe that's way overkill for air lines, but it never hurts to err on the safe side.
Post some pics when you get them swapped over.
That actually came off a 931 i am tearing apart. It was right out of the Blount island refurb. Ive switched some of the hoses off of it onto mine. Some are different styles that that and blue hoses. Only the smaller ones going to the brake cans are the typical brake lines. I do about 5k miles a month in mine with tons of bumps and vibrations. I have broken several of the cross over lines on the brake cans cause the paint on them i guess doesn't let them flex or just causes a small hole

Looks good. I want to get my son one for his daily driver. He is only 2 right now but I figure when he is 10 I well get him one. Then we can fix it up together before he starts driving it.
