I installed a factory convoy light set on my M923. Now she is ready for the Weare, NH convoy. They look and work good. They are a little tall and they are in the stowed position! They could go up another foot or two. I know I would hit every tree branch if I put them up. I had to remove the spare tire as I have 1400 x 20 on her and her bed is still in the original position. The 1400 fit in there but just barely and had to remove the intake to get in and out. Spare will be in the bed for now.

I am going to add convoy lights to mine but i want to do electric telescopic poles so when i am not hauling an oversized load or empty they would sit below the cab top.

Hey Wes, I wish they were a little lower but it was installed as per the military installation instructions and not a real easy way to modify or easily remove them. I just need to keep an eye on low tree branches.

I made custom mounts for mine and was able to mount them a foot+ lower. That way I don't rake the top of the shop door when I'm pulling in...

Ordered and received twelve 3/8" thick x 5.5" OD steel discs with 1/2" holes in the center. I'm going to install these over the end of each torque rod (dog bone) end to keep it in place if it slips off again, drill and tap 1/2" bolt.

Why does it keep slipping off? Did you replace the dog bone? Are you running 16's?

Mos68, sorry it took so long to reply but the digital meter is a volt gauge as I wanted a more accurate reading of what the system is doing. Works great. Found it on amazon for less than $10.

TobyS what is the length on the sideboards for the dump? I recently picked up some troop seats that measure about 10'1" and was trying to figure out what they were for. Thank you. The deuce and rear on the M923's are about 12'2".

Yes, that is the length of troop seats in the dump truck M929 and M817 and also the side boards. It might be a couple inches longer for the wood. Do you need an exact measure?

On my side boards I used the uprights from the troop seats so the top bows would still fit. Caution if doing it with the troop seat uprights.... there needs to be a top plug so gravel does not go down inside, as taking them out to empty out gravel is a lot of work.

Finally started rebuilding my troop seats, also finally got new allen head button screws to replace those **** philips button head screws on the fuel tank sending unit.

Plusnuts will help those looking at a binding solution without using nut and bolt, in areas where access to one side is difficult/impossible. Plusnuts are like Rivnuts on steroids..
