Not so bad on the nut, there was enough play on the linkage to pull it through the engine side of the firewall about 1/2'' and fit a wrench back there, once the wiper motor is unscrewed.
Your method proves much more difficult than it should be. Just loosen the M6 /10mm headed bolts on the ball socket linkage of the wiper transmission. Much easier on the installer and getting the arm back on in the small opening is sure to flare the temper. Replace the motor arm on the workbench and grease the linkage ball before reinstallation. Much easier. I always take my wiper transmission linkage out and grease and oil everything. It stops that annoying squeak when the wipers are on and the wipers work much better not to mention relieve the tension and overload on the wiper motor. Just a thought. That cowl screen area could always use a good cleaning anyway. Have a great day.
