I'm a new 1009 owner, 4 months now, and there seems to be no end to things that I've done to my truck "lately".
Just today I replaced the blower motor speed selector switch and the plug that plugs into the back of it. They were
both melted pretty bad and its been pretty cold here in Chicago. A week without the heater was enough for me.
The last thing I did before that was the glow plugs. It had Autolites in it, but they were fried. I got AC60Gs and
immediately voided their warranty by grinding the connector to fit the stock plug connectors. Starts a lot better now,
but I'm worried about the manual GP button one of the previous owners installed. From what I've read here it could cause
problems.
