Clarion cms2 radio install. It's a marine stereo with separate control face and brain.
I put the 1 inch thick face on the center dash plate and put the brain in
the glove box. It has 6.5's in the doors for now. I have .50 cal
ammo boxes for rear 6x9's but haven't decided where to put them. 20wx4 is plenty. No amp.

New front wheel bearings and seals. The races looked good and I was lazy so I left the old ones in. My 3/8 torque wrench would not adapt to the nut socket so it is together with german tourqe till I can get a proper sized wrench on it next weekend.

Aren't those matched sets?

Cool. Yeah, I have to agree, spending money on an amp for one of these noisemakers doesn't really make a lot of sense. They don't exactly have studio acoustics.

Why the marine radio?

I replanned my lightbar/brake light setup.

I got yelled at for my 'brake lights being too high', by a county mounty.... State Patrol showed up and said it wasn't a big deal..

But, apparently, I got 'talked to' about impersonating a cop........

In a 30 y/o truck....

With army markings....

With state issued Navy tags....

With an amber lightbar....

:recovry4x4:

I've gotten pulled over three times in the past month, all on bogus stops.....

People weren't kidding when they said that camo attracts attention... I was stopped once in one year for my rig, and the officer just wanted to know what was up with it...

What do the statutes say about brake light height? Each state has their own laws and some are quite stupid.

Unlawful stop.
Were you there? Kind of hard to articulate that from GA.

For what's its worth, I've been driving old military trucks for 20 years. Each time I was stopped (all 3 of them) was for not displaying a tag. I can hardly agree that camo attracts any negative attention.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.37.200 Very little regulation on brake lights in the WA code. As far as height, most commercial wreckers (not so much rollbacks) have brake lights mounted high or built into the light bar. I see no regulation on the amber lights except their operation while the vehicle is in motion.

It's my humble opinion that it's not so much the color of the truck but the addition of emergency lighting that is causing the extra attention.

Nope. equipt has been on there since day 1. Apparently WA does have a limit as far as how high brakes can be, but it's selectively enforced, Ie, I need a reason to stop this guy.

Let's not derail the thread though ;)

I got quite a bit done in the last week. Took a road trip up to Devils Tower, changed the oil, installed a new heater core, heater hoses and bypass hose. I also installed a set of seat covers from Jatonka.

Close encounters of the CUCV kind8)
