Yes
Be honest and upfront with any deficiencies on the vehicle.
I’m sure you will,……..but others do not.

When you’re actually ready to sell, list in the classifieds.

I managed a few small projects this week.
1. Rear view mirrorcam is now installed.

I did not not like that I am not able to see the trailer hitch. So, I installed a second camera up high. I have ordered a switch to I can toggle between camera feeds.

2. I removed the STE/ICE harness and plug (I’ll never a STE/ICE to use anyway) and setup a mount for a USB charger that has a voltmeter.

3. I installed a secondary fuse/relay box to power aux devices only when the ignition is on. No pic yet.
4. Installed an RGB light bar on the brushguard. No pic yet. New switch ordered to turn it on.
5 new wiper motor installed.
Trying to accomplish all I can before rotator cuff surgery.

Well, after eight years, I have finally started the process of replacing my OEM drivetrain with the new P400 / 765R4 / NP241. Got the front clip off in one day. Draining fluids now and will remove driveshafts & mufflers this afternoon.

I'd sure like to see a clip of that thing running. I can't imagine what a blown Detroit will sound like.

This followed me home last Friday.

The guy who sold it to me is a member here, but not sure about his user name.

I originally declined to buy it, because it had a lot of weird things about it, but in the end decided to put down a little more money than I wanted, and seller took a nice chunk of change off his asking price, so I think it was fair.

62K miles.

Former NG turned Sheriff community policing truck. They spraypainted right over the sheriff decals.

It's a walking contradiction. Half the stuff is something you'd expect in a minty creampuff truck, and the other half is like bubba got to it (sheriff's office).

Rear window works - which I've never seen an M1009 with a working rear window.
Factory fuel filter bracket is there, and NOT leaking.
Rear bench seat and passenger seat is near mint, but the driver's seat was replaced because it was absolutely toast.
Has rear fuel can mount, spare tire bracket, and factory jack - rare to see those.

Then, the blackout switch was removed, the front blackout light and slave port were removed, and they removed the pintle hook and welded on a std hitch in its place, and there's SHAG CARPET that the sheriff's office put down - and of course being PNW and we all know how well the seals are in these trucks, there was literally moss growing in the back, on the carpet.... Looked like a mini grass forest almost..... the carpet was completely soaked.... .BUT.... almost no rust.... There's a small spot of rust on the tailgate where it always is because water gets in and can't get out... and you can tell it's been to the beach a time or 2, but under the carpet was mostly clean... Some oxidation/corrosion on some of the underhood components, which is to be expected.

I'm hoping to essentially rebuild this into the M1009 that was wrecked 5 years ago... (below) although not sure if I wanna stick with army or maybe go with navy shore patrol this time around.. I was thinking MP for a bit but people are too dumb and I already get people calling 911 on my sasquatch car... so I'll probably just stick with 3 color.

I've already ordered all new fluids, bulbs, switches, LOTS of sandpaper, etc to bring it back to life.

Thanks also to Mainsail - I crashed into his place for a little bit to shoot the #%(& after I bought it since I was in the area, and he hooked me up with some stuff from his 1009 since he sold it. Thanks!

So, in between not crapping my pants or throwing up (food poisoning) and being that the Weenie bought an M1009 and researched some of the brighter headlights since he hasn't needed to buy new ones in like 5 years and technology is constantly changing... Y'all know (or at least should know) how par-tick-ular I am about proper lighting, and how important cutoff line is and why projectors are so great.

Check this out.... Dusk.... Just hooked up to battery...not installed or aimed..but check out that beam pattern. Low beam, just moved to show the pattern.

Yeah... That's just one bulb....not even dark out yet.....look at that cutoff line!

No long term reports but so far I think this might be a good option.

...and less than $100.... NOT a referral link... I don't have that crap.

I also decided to spray some lube in the locks....

and..... if you know.. you know... feels like I hit the lottery.

@TechnoWeenie I’d appreciate you posting pics back up once both headlights are installed and it’s darker out with both low and high beams. I’ve been looking for a better solution for my DD M1031. The halogen bulbs leave a lot to be desired. Unfortunately I’ve got 3 sets left and hate spending money. But if the light is that much better I might have to seriously consider it!
