Unloaded my "new to me" 40x60 I beam shop skeleton. No pole barn here,,, lucked out and found a surplus mine Butler I beam building that was dismantled years ago.. This means no center supports, with 38x58 open un restricted movement inside. Only problem is the walls are 12ft tall, thus Im gonna have to set it up on pillions to get it up to 16-18ft walls so I can get my taller equipment in the door.... but for what I paid... Im not hurting if some modifications need to be made.... (have welder will create,,,, and re- create).IMG_20171117_112527692.jpg

Use caution in your modifications, beam frame buildings have outward thrust on the “legs” especially under snow load and require a foundation designed to account for this.

Already taking this into consideration,. Know a few structural engineers,. Current plan is the concrete pillers embedded in the ground. Then extending the truss ends ( already pre-drilled for extensions) out about 12-14' as lean too additions which makes the original 8 points of ground contact "T" supports instead of"I" supports. The additional out rigging adds a total of 16 ground contact points instead of 8 and distributes load more equally.

Yeah, you guys are getting/about to get some major snow! Good time for chains.
My parents have a summer home in Maggie Valley (Waynesboro?).

These big wreckers are amazing.

Waynesville is near Maggie valley but both places are in Haywood county and there talking like 8-24 inches but the numbers keep changing so I’m not sure the exact amount and yeah I love my wrecker has made a lot of heavy jobs a whole lot easier.

I haven't had been on this site in a while, but sometimes I see things that make me think of SS. This really should be in th MV spotted thread, but I thought y'all would appreciate it more. I do residential phone and internet repair. This old man has the rusty iron desease specific to wreckers. He said if it's old with a boom and a wench, he's got an itch for it. He's at least in his 70s, and had to leave in his flatbed to go on a call. I know he only has a few MVs, but I thought you all would like it.
