What is the weight of an M1025A1? Search not my friend today

I need to purchase lifts and I need to know actual (not gross) vehicle weight for:

1987 M1025A1. 6.2 engine. TH400 Tranny, Functional Turret without cupula.

Search is not kicking out the correct weight although I know others have asked. Just can't find the threads or the answers.

So, I will be swapping in a new transmission. I needed to know the weight of my vehicle in order to purchase ramp/lifts that are strong enough. I found some on FleaPay, and with the warm weather and the quarantines in NYC, I figure I will have time to scrape my knuckles.

My buddy and I will swap tranny and replace seals on transfer case at the same time. Probably also place drainage plug type cover on the 765R4 and also place underside protection cage I bought 2 years ago to protect the rig when I go over rougher terrain.

You can actually drop the transmission and transfer without ramps. I just did that. I put a sling around the front of the tranny, through the open doghouse hole, and onto my gantry crane, and used a transmission hoist at the rear of the transfer.

Once the tranny is on the ground, you can pull it sideways from under the Humvee. It just fits under the frame rails.

Instead of the gantry crane, one can probably use an engine crane, or a chain hoist on a four by four put over the A- and B-frame

Gonna be me and my mechanic friend and I wanted elbow room so I went overkill. That and I have several cars that all maintenance so I bought the ramps. Jealous of your gantry crane. I will most likely use an engine cherry picker above and two heavy duty 5 tonne jacks below. Overkill but I already own the jacks so why not use them to softly lower the old tranny/transfer case and install the new one ? The ramps will allow them to be placed comfortably.

Your way seems awesome and confirms that I will have space to work! Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated!

Or just buy a transmission jack....cheap and works great.
I have 2 floor jacks and I will probably buy a transmission adapter. Because I don't know the center of gravity with the transfer case attached, I will use the second floor jack to prevent the tranny/transfer case from falling off or tipping the floor jack over, unless you know a better way.

I got the ramps today and will plan tranny swap and such over the next couple of weeks.

I will post that stuff to my "Ongoing Log" thread.
