What Model - Dually CUCV Pickup

Found a truck today. Sorry I didn't have my caamera.

It is a CUCV single cab pickup w/dual rear wheels. The door tag was CD 10903. IIRC

What M series is it?

The engine was disassembled, the tranny tail housing cracked and in the bed. It was in rough shape but I want it....

CD 30903. M1028A2 or M1028A3, probably the former. Tailshaft is hard to find as it was only on longbed civilan K30's, unless it is an A3, then it's on K20's...

Does it look like one of these. M1028A2's

The M1028A2 has the NP205 transfer case.
The M1028A3 has the NP208 transfer case.

Yep, that what it looks like. The tranfer case is in the bed also. I will check it to see which one it is.

How do you guys like the truck? Better than a M1008?

Never had the military "dually" but, plenty of the civilian models. Worked great hauling camper and towing trailers. The K30 4x4 versions did not come with a rear sway bar, never missed it.

The payload was increased to 4,000 lbs (evenly distributed of course).

My K30's had a 10K gvw with a trailer tag of 15K gcw. They all had 5 leaf helper sets except the 1977 which had 6 leafs.
