i dont know guys, im kinda liking it a little. i respect how you guys feel about it, but i always thought it would be neat to make a street rod out of an old MV and keep it OD Green. it's a rat rod thing. My dad and i have built a couple rods from the ground up and it seems like it would be easier to find a solid MV body than a early pickup truck body sometimes. Like if i took a deuce body, narrowed it and sectioned it and made a similiar deal. at least it all is OD green and not like that one deuce we have all seen on Blazer axles...thats just sad looking! hahaha

Rest at ease.

First Picture: Poor photoshop. Concept drawing maybe?

Second and Third: Street rod made by grafting and M37 cab on to a NON-M37 frame.

It's not as bad as it seems, at first. They didn't chop down an M37 frame. Just appropriated the cab.

I guess it goes with out saying "to each his own". Having said that I would not could not do that to a vehicle. I have problems with doing that to non-MVs. While plentyful now, they will start to become very hard to find in the near future. Make them orginal or make them better than orginal while in keeping with the astetics/form and function. Example M37 with a cummins 4bta.
Oh-my father, rat rod nut.

My not so humble opinion on this, but if it keeps the kids off the streets and not selling crack.....well then...........

Wow, deja vu. I just saw a truck similar to this at a car show here in Wis. Except they'd actually channeled the body down around the frame. The thing sat just inches off the ground.

It was sort of cool, if you didn't get bent about the guy chopping up an old milveh.

And as Atomic put it:
if it keeps the kids off the streets and not selling crack.....well then...........
Amen

I'm thinking 5 ton frame......V-8 Driptroit, 5 seed Allison auto, Peterbuilt rear end with air ride.

Front axle with air bags off commercial vehicle to support the engine.

Maybe a HEMMT cab since they look chopped, loose the center console since it will not be needed for an air tunnel.

Small quarter fenders or open wheel up front.

Some sort of cowling around the huge radiator the Detroit would require.

I would not lower it to an extreme.....more like the 70's hot rod stance...high in the rear, low in the front.

I would add a small bed....either custom flat bed or M101 bed.

Lake pipes made out of semi stacks.

Welcome to my nightmare.

I **** you not, I have seen something like that before. Big ole detroit, huge radiator, but it had a 13 spd instead of an auto...

I know this is heading quickly to a rat rod thread...but I would start with this! They don't have style like this any more!
