Since your transmission cooler lines run first to the radiator, if your engine is at operating temperature then your good to go.

One thing to add: If you have a problem with your engine overheating, you might want to consider a trans cooler BEFORE the radiator. Any heat dumped out to the air BEFORE it gets to the radiator is heat that won't be put into your coolant.
You might still want one after the radiator, as well.
