I have a vinyl bed cover on my deuce, both "hatches" have the stitching torn out around the edge. I want to sew them back up, my feminine side is coming out.

Seriously, The thread is thicker than the stuff my wife purchased to do the repairs.

Anyone know what thread I should be looking for? Wife purchased regular thread and upholstery thread both are not the same thickness as the original around the zippers.

I used Shoe-Goo from Wal-Mart on my M116 cover (both sides' stitching was dry rotted) and it is holding fine so far took a tube for each side. I am going to try pop rivets to put the tiedown straps back on where their stitching disintegrated.
