OK, now the burning questions: With all these different tech manuals, there's gotta be a whole lot of redundancies and overlapping of information. I understand a deuce is a complicated piece of equipment and requires a sizable amount of information to keep it running reliably and safely, but which, if any, of the TMs will cover everything needed to keep a regular old M35A2 running reliably and safely? Say for example I wanted to go to a print shop and have one of these PDF documents printed and bound so I can have a hard copy in the truck in a plastic bag (or two) under the driver's seat just in case. Which one should I shell out the $$ to have correlated, printed and bound?

There is no such thing as one magic TM that will always help you.

They are not designed like that.

When talking truck TMs, simply think 3 levels.

Level one (basic), operators manual(how to drive and use the truck). ends in -10

Level two (mechanical repairs) the type of basic maintenance you might do at home. ends in -20

Level three (the most technical mechanical repairs) the type of things you would most likely take your vehicle to a professional repair shop for. ends in -34

And there are usually one or two that end in "P". Those are exploded parts views with all the part numbers listed.
The LO (lube order) tells you where and what fluids are used in your vehicle. ends in -12

There are variations of the ending numbers, but in general, the lower the ending number, the more basic it is.

If it were me, I think I'd have this one on board:

TM 9-2320-209-10-3
TECHNICAL MANUAL
TROUBLESHOOTING
OPERATOR LEVEL
2½-TON, 6x6, M44A1 AND M44A2 SERIES TRUCKS

(MULTIFUEL)

But, as Doghead previously stated, there is no one magic TM to have in the cab.

That's a very good explaination of the TM structure. You made it very easy to understand. I may have to use that in the generator sticky I'm working on.
