This is a tracker. That way, the bean counters can track the equipment when its being shipped.

yes I got a few of those and my guy scanned emm and bingo a lot of information popped up, solution, I peeled emm all off .. best mac/mc

Also that. But these things were not only used for trucks. Boxes and pallets were also "tagged". That was the term used when I asked about them. They are reuseable. It cut down on pilferage and misdirected shipments.

These RFID tags do nothing until scanned & then they give out all the info the army needs to know about that piece of equipment. There are also the type that have the 3v lithium battery that transmit data to a small area & if you have the correct receiver, you can pick up this info.
I bought a series of trailers that had the self powered units on them & to satisy my OCD, the batteries were removed for safe keeping.
