Wheel bearing removal - Rear Inner

Looked through a hunnert threads

Looked through the TM


The inner wheel bearing needs to come off so i can replace the seal.


The TM says to use puller, dosen't say which one or p/n.


How do i get this thing off ? I have a nice 3 jaw gear puller but it's no where deep enough to reach the inner bearing.

It shouldn't be on all that tight. Just did mine and it slid off after some gentle coaxing. But nothing much should hold it on at all. Try tapping the back of the seal with a hammer, seals no good anyway.

Did the seal tap trick, just suceded in denting the seal

Bearing doesn't look like it got hot , but I got grease (not dope) all under the bed and on the tailgate.

I'm beginning to get that sinking feeling.

try sticking somethinh thin behind the bearing and prying ,maybe tapping down with a hammer.

Did mine in June I used a rubber mallet.

Get a heel bar and pop it off with that. It will just slide right off. Maybe someone used loctite on it?

I actually was doing bearings today and about 4 of 6 inners needed help. I took a thin screwdriver and a small hammer at the back of the bearing and tapped it down between the bearing and the spindle and from there it worked off fine. smear a little grease in front of bearing to help it slide off. Also had to tap the new ones on which is fine because you dont want them loose on the spindle.
