where is the wired #568 connected to on 200amp generator?

where is the wired #568 connected to on 200amp generator?
I upgraded my V to a 200amp generator, all are set up as in the upgraded kits--however the kits has no mention of the wire #568-- the truck can start as normal but would not charge battery or generate any power.
So I put the old 60amp gen back on, and notice that the wire #568 must be connected to that point as in picture where I have the needle pointed to or it won't charge the battery, won't have any power. bundle that 568 with 5A wire won't work either. (In other words, if cut off switch is turned off engine shuts down.)
So I figure that wire #568 must be connected to some where onto the 200amp gen in order to have the gen work properly.
Does anyone know? I need to know for sure before calling the 200amp gen inoperational.

Is your 200A the Niehoff with N3135 regulator? That is what I have on my M1038. Only 5A and 2A are connected in addition to the big output and ground connections. The #568 wire is connected to #785B in the vicinity of the front intake manifold port. Looking at the wiring diagram, 785B is associated with the NBC (nuclear, biological chemical) filtration system on the M996 ambulance model. So it looks like with neither wire needed they just connected them together.



If you have the Niehoff maybe you just need to wait for it to kick in; it has about a 10 second delay in order to give a "soft start", i.e. let the engine line out a bit before putting on the charging load.

Yes, indeed I have the N3135 regulator, written on it. BUT I cannot find wire #785B anywhere on my m998

Again, even on the 60amp gen when wire 568 and 5A are connected, it will not output any power either

Obviously, when bundled the 5A and 568 together to the big stud, it did not work either

Help please,

do you have any document on how to do this involving wire 568?

The N3135 installation instructions are on the Niehoff website, and they show 568 connected to the IGN terminal: http://www.ceniehoff.com/Documents/Ctrl_Hyperlink/II0028D_uid121020091201492.pdf

Either 5A or 568 (or both) should work, since they are tied together in the wiring harness. Can you verify that battery voltage is being supplied to the IGN terminal?

tomorrow, I will mount it back on with reference to the two docs above, if all fails, I go exchange for another one... I will keep you posted.

For sure, my m998 does not have wire number 785B

In the N3135 installation instructions from Niehoff Shows that 2A goes to the AC terminal and 568 goes to the IGN terminal

finally, I found the time to hook it back up.

wire 568 and 5A to red 28V small stud on regulator box, together, it works, but it will not charge immediately... I had to wait a little for it to charge ... that is all. Last time I did not wait, I thought it should charge right away. So I deemed it broken or wire 568 misplaced.

Or maybe it was broken last time, now it fixes itself.

I had the same sinking feeling when I first started my HMMWV after installing the 200 amp alternator, and leaving 568 disconnected with the empty connector installed (per the directions). With a VOM connected to the batteries, the voltage did not increase at all. I turned it off, reviewed all my connections, and decided that sometimes alternators need RPM's to excite the field and / or to engage the regulator enough to charge. I restarted and after coming off idle, voila, it immediately began charging.
