White smoke

I know that this has come up before but if I may. I have a 1991 humvee non turbo that is blowing white smoke. We live about 1.5 miles of the highway and it dosn't blow smoke until I get on the highway at speed. This will last even after she warms up and will take about 20 more miles before she stops. It just started doing this about a week ago.

White smoke is usually coolant but it takes a lot of it to make smoke and since your coolant level is OK then it must be blue-ish white smoke which is motor oil. If the unit runs good, no missing or dead cylinders and since it's not puffing like one cylinder when it fires and it's not constant ( it clears up) I am thinking that you have lost a seal on at least one of your valve guides. Usually this causes smoke at start up and will clear up once everything is up to operating temp but not always. keep an eye on your oil level.
Just my best guess based on your description
Hope it helps
