Why Doesn't My M35A2 Horn Work ?

I saw some from a dealer or two they just want $90. or more for the nos kit. I got mine a lot cheaper. But the flea market didn't know what it was for. My luck to be in the right place at the right time for once. Check around there out there.

If the button has been removed, good chance the wire that runs down the inside of the steering column is broken or has worn insulation that is shorted to the column (which gives you a continuous horn!). If you find that, search here, there are a bunch of threads with suggestions on how to replace the wire (it is a huge PITA).

In my M35A2 the solenoid was removed. I have a new one but I noticed there is no air coming out of the open air line where the old solenoid used to be. I have air at the connection inside the cab. Any pointers?

OK yes thanks. Is there a certain point in the air system where a tech would block the line prior to removing the solenoid? Whoever took it off didn't just cut and bend the airline, they did it properly.

I would trace that line all the way back to the tanks. There should be air pressure there as long as the tanks have air in them. Maybe run some bailing wire down to see if a mud-dobber closed it up or look for a kinked/crushed section. Thats about all I can suggest.

Just to share here, I had a problem with my horn on the deuce... It started honking on its own on the way back from the sawmill one day. I was sitting in London ky at a stop light and it honked, stopped, long honked, went silent. I looked around and made eye contact the barista yuppy in the tiny little hatchback next to me. I had both hands on the wheel and he must have seen that because he looked real confused when it honked one more time. I drove another 40ish miles home with the horn going in and out of spastic honk sessions. Some people waved, some people gave me that look "yeah, you got a big truck, now stop honking at us ya bleepen jack wagon." when I got home I disconnected one of the connectors from the horn. It was honking even with everything completely off. Been running without out it for a few weeks. Figured id browse the forums on it, but my gut reaction would be to look for an exposed wire that is making contact with frame or a dirty/corroded contact just haven't had time to go fishing around for it yet.

My deuce hasn't had an electric horn since I've bought it and I got curious one day and checked out why not. After looking at the horn button I found the wire in the column was broke so I fixed it all up and still nothing. I hooked the horn up to the batteries and it worked but nothing through the button. I found that there wasn't any power going to the horn. I checked the wire in the column and that's good I checked the connection from the wire to the harness and then from the harness to the horn and still can't find out why

You should have power at the horn at all times with the switch on. The horn is ground side switched. So when you push the horn it sends a ground signal to activate the horn.

That is the same issue I’m having in my m-813.
horn wiring appears to be the same as my wife’s deuce.

My switch do you mean service drive? I know online they said if you turn your service drive on and your lights come on you should have power to your horn. After checking I still don't. I don't know where I'm losing power from if that's true because my headlights come on and I tested them and they come up with 24v

The horn power is fed from a circuit breaker on the firewall, upper driver's side. There will be one or two breakers if you have a heater installed or not. Those connections tend to be fried from age. Also, the breaker could be bad. On my deuce, I had to replace the breaker and run a new 24V line to the horn.

My truck had a heater at one point but I think it got taken off. I see there used to be something on firewall. I have 2 female connectors just hanging there now. But I dont see any circuit breakers. I dont even know what it would look like

Could a new feed just bypass the circuit breaker? From the battery up the column and soldered in with original horn wire?

It would be a fire hazard to not have circuit protection. You don't have to use a breaker but an in-line fuse would be really good idea. Fuse should be as close to the source as possible. The fuse's purpose is to protect the wire in case of a short.
