I need some ideas with measurements on how I can mount my winch on my m1009 with the factory bumper. Either behind it or in front of the bumper. Any tips will help!

FWIW...... back around March 2014 on Fourwheeler Network there was an article titled;

"Building A Winch Bumper - Backyard Mil-Bumper"

a copy is at URL:

I posted the above back in August

I essentially did the above install. Used a harbor freight winch mount that I cut down. I then drilled holes in my frame up front and mounted the winch up side down behind the bumper. I cut a hole where the plate goes for a fairlead and used maglite mounts to mount a plate that clips on and off. I mounted the control box under hood on the drivers inner fender.

I do want to actually flip mine at some point so it's right side up. The clutch lever hangs down and I'm afraid it'll catch on something.

I put a front receiver hitch on and use a MM 24v 12,000 lb. winch with a NATO cable hookup. It's swappable front and back now that I have a receptacle in the back.
