I have a problem with the hyd winch on my M932, It will unwind but will not wind. at the control valve if I pull the plunger out it unwinds and when I push it in the hose moves but no wind. Any idea? Thanks for your help.

Have you ever operated it before? If not, you may have a stuck brake band (assuming it's the same as an 809 series).

Pull the little cover on the front and inspect it. With a screwdriver or prybar, you might be able to spread the band a bit.

Winch

Have not used it before, I just bought the truck and had to hook up control cable and fill with hyd oil. I will try that in a bit. Thanks!

I find that on my 925 I have to goose the left lever all the way to the back, and then it engages. The lever appears to be all the way back, but then soldier B pops his head up and asks what I am waiting for. I think it helps to give it a little RPM to help it slide in all the way.

Generally, if a hyd motor will work in one direction it will work in the other. Same for the winch. Are you sure you are pushing the spool all the way? I still tend to think it's a control valve problem. You may be seeing the hose swell but it could be still not letting enough fluid by to run the winch.

You could put a pressure gauge on each line and see what your readings are. I'd start there.

A few others have had the same problem, the control cable was not moving the spool far enough
