Wiper Blades (stock equip) M35

So I tried doing a search but the one thread I found went to a dead link or possibly to the old site or something. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/mechanical-upgrades/8151-new-wiper-blades.html

Anyway, I noticed that there are two different styles of mounting loops on the 10" wiper blades. I need to order some replacements and was wondering if both would work or what. Any input helps. Thanks.

I got a set of stock NOS blades from Saturn and they worked perfectly on my M35A2.

The reason that link doesn't work is because when we went from the old style of url's (like this: View topic - Repair panel HELP!!!! :: Steel Soldiers :: Military Vehicles Supersite) to the new style (like this: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/27216-repair-panel-help.html). Those 2 links are for exactly the same thread, but since the new url system displays it differently, the old one won't work.

Our IT dept. should have found a fix for this before they upgraded the site, but since it wasn't important to them, it was deemed unimportant to everyone and we are left with 5 years worth of threads with broken links.

As to the wipers................ since you bumped the old thread, I would have probably left it at that as opposed to creating a new one, but now that we are here, try this:

I did plenty of searching prior to both posts and none of the threads I came across answered my question. The only way I found that old post was by searching and when I posted in that thread, the sub-category seemed weird, that thread was the only one in there. I left it for a day or two and with no additional views much less a response, I resorted to posting in here. My thinking was, certainly someone here knows what I am talking about.

My question still goes unanswered as there are apparently two types of stock wiper blades for the m35, which is fine I guess. I needed to order them quickly for a planned trip and just shot from the hip and ordered them from Erick's website.

On a side note, I understand the purpose of the search feature and I use it religiously. It seems that everytime a new thread pops up the fist post is instructing the thread starter on how to use the search feature. For example I found my M35's vin information using the search rather than wasting CARNAC's time to go back and re-enter information he has entered the previous year. I try to find the answers to my questions without posting questions because sometimes it seems that, on a discussion forum starting new threads, is frowned upon.

I got mine from Erik's Mil Surplus, along with a bunch of other stuff I needed. Only like 8 bucks and they look stock so they're either NOS or good reproductions. I'm keeping my truck as stock-looking as I can (within budgetary constraints) so that was important to me.

Also, my opinion on resurrecting threads vs posting new ones is that when you can find a thread that's relevant, go ahead and dig it back up! I've learned a lot from threads other people dug up, heck some of them I knew I needed to find that info in the back of my head but had no idea what to search for and wasn't remembering to look for it, and it just popped up!

If you don't know what to search for or can't find anything relevant, by all means start a new thread and if people link you to another, look at it. I started out here with zero knowledge and know barely more than that now... so I know how it is to search for info when you don't even know what terms to search for.

Yes, this is a complaint I share with you. I know fresh, new threads get more views than old ones and we are in the process of trying to get (train) the membership to pay attention to older threads so that what happened to you will become less common. I have had the same problem. The worst is when a person asks for help with a problem, then they get advice and they never come back (to the site or the thread) to let us know if it worked. Then I dig up the thread a year later and have no idea what fixed the original poster's problem.

Only because 90% of the topics have already been covered. No one is trying to be rude (I would hope). I know I try to give people relevant links to assist them as opposed to telling them to take a hike.

Awesome. His contributions have helped all of us and I use the VIN thread in exactly the same way. When I am not sure what year one of our 0225-????? deuces is, all I have to do is find his thread.

We're just trying to manage the amazing amount of data that's here so it doesn't get lost. I know sometimes it might seem superfluous or a pain in the you know where, but there is a reason for it. Gracias!

Thanks for the pictures, that matches my wipers. Old ones had the double looking hook, new one (from Erik's) had the single hook. The single hook has been working fine for a year. The metal part of both of my old ones was in good shape, no rust, so I tried replacing just the rubber. Pulled out the rubber section, and it almost matches the Bosch wiper cross section. I bought a new Bosch insert, and just slightly trimmed one of the top ridges, and was able to slide it into the old metal part (a little soapy water, and stretched it out a little). Been working fine for 8 months.
Note that by fine I mean as well as stock deuce wipers work, which is pretty poorly. I'm going to do one of the civy wiper arms conversions eventually.

My understanding is that there is only one wiper arm, so i think that this is valid advice... Yes, they interchange. My truck came to me with the "right hand" style, with the extra hole in the hook. I believe (don't know...) that the hole is for a cotter so it can not come loose. The "left hand" style without the extra hole in the hook fit just nicely in my wiper arms that used to contain the style with the hole.
