We won (foolishly?) two M818s in Lansing, and would sincerely appreciate any assistance. Is there anyone near the site willing to check out the condition of the units? Also, we would like to ship a tow bar for use in the recovery if someone is willing to accept/hold it for us. The current thought (hope) is to fly to out and try to drive them back, and any and all thoughts and recommendtions are welcome.

I am going to Lansing next week to recover a couple things, perhaps if you talk to Joe he will let me check them out for you. I am sure they are runners though.

There was nothing closer? Like something in New York, PA or MD?

That would be awesome. I will call him tomorrow. My friend Gary is the crazy one; PA or NY would have been fine for me.... I just hope we make it back.
We do appreciate your willingness to assist.

glenn, your one truck looks really nice like the others, it did not quite start though. Just not enough juice to get it to totally roll over. The other truck I could not find, they did have another row of trucks that was 3 deep and 20 or so long; but with my wife and kids with me we didn't look at everyone.

I'm sure the truck was there, but all the trucks looked really good. A bunch have "Clark Truck" written across the hoods as the buyers. One of theres had a flat front tire. I'd say it would be a good plan for you and Eric to convoy back together. Chances are his EUC will clear a long time before yours.

Joe is writing all buyers names across purchased items now in grease pens. My truck had my name on it and both my trailers today...so I'm guessing that dealer just bought the trucks through auction.

Just picked up the M818 with 20 ton trailer that was advertised on E-Bay .. pick it up next Friday and will drive it 3 hours to my place in WI ... does anyone know how much any of the 4 M818's listed at Ft Benning GA went for? I am stationed there and had a good look at them ... all were in good shape, had full fuel tanks, good batteries (they all turned over) and had been serviced from the look of them .. Clark Equipment usually sucks up these types of items here on post :-( .. was just curious as I had planned on bidding on 2 of them but then I picked up that M818 out of Iowa .. it had a decent flatbed trailer included which was the clincher for me ... now I can pull my halftrack around. The queen will be happy to get out and about when I finally get home.

I just found a 5-ton tractor for sale with the multifuel engine, it is a 1968 and looks decent (m54a2 I think?). I have 2 problems:1. money, price is $3,900 but I might be able to get it cheaper and 2. what am I going to do with it? Is there any money to be made from it?

I really want a m920, but the fuel bill would be incredible, so I thought I'd start with a multifuel, but how can I make money with the truck?

The LDS 465 1A which is the motor that should be in that truck is valuable. If it runs good.. The tractor shares the same wheelbase as the dump truck so you could put a dump on it? Without seeing it and listening to the motor I can't make a judgment on if you could make money on or with it. The 5 ton multi's are getting a bit hard to find these days..

I am not asking if I can make money by selling parts or whatever, I want to keep the truck as is and I am just wondering what I could do with it to make money. I am trying to figure that out! I have a deuce and want the multifuel 5-ton tractor; just have to find a way to pay myself back.
