Question, when you put the 1008 axles under the 1009, did you change the master cylinder/booster out with it or were the 1009 parts good enough for the job?

The 1009 has the same hydroboost as a 1008.

I didn't pay any attention to the master cylinder but it stops fine. AJM thanks for the info, I learn something everyday

Um, no it doesn't... they both use hydroboost, but they are not the same.
