Wont start - starter sounds sad?

Now that the issue appears to be resolved, can anybody tell me why there are hotwired cherry bomb baffles screwed to the airbox?

Those are the ballast resistors that are mounted on the firewall behind the air filter. I will get you a better reason as to why I retain them on my trucks but all I can think of is because they worked for the past 35+ years and yes, I have had glow plugs fail at times. I corrected the issue and moved on. Good Luck.

@CARC686 huh? you mean this? Thats just the resistor removed from the firewall and laying on top of the airbox
