Get a life!Any suggestions from the Peanut Gallery?
Actually a M933 is a Tractor/Wrecker. M946 is not used. M944 and M945 a Chassis only.
Well poop!!! I did a google on it. Didn't pop up.
Any suggestions from the Peanut Gallery?
If I had used a deuce bed (which I had just sold) the end of the bed would have been between the tandems and looked weird.Might need a duece bed, that swing clearance looks mighty close.
As front heavy as the truck is (and the bed will be loaded with trade goods), and as light as the van trailer is I don't foresee a problem.Great project! Do you think it will pull weird with the hitch so far behind the axle? Or push the tail of the truck during turns? If it works well will this be a permanent modification?
Its got that down pretty good anyways...If I had used a deuce bed (which I had just sold) the end of the bed would have been between the tandems and looked weird.
Could you do that on the Rally? I never managed that either (but my experience with those combo's is very limited) Few yards straight back I managed, but for all maneuvering I took the trailer "on the nose".I'll have to come down and teach you some day. I do it 7 days a week with a tri drive body job tanker and a quad wagon set up
Since not being at the rally isn't an option, is there a back up plan?
That problem exists even with the long bed on there. I have thought about installing a DOT bumper back there since a car could run all the way to the rear axle given enough momentum and driver stupidity. I'd hate to deprive some deserving moron of his Darwin Award but it is probably something I will address to negate liability. As long as there is a trailer back there things should be fine.Without underride bar, you can be sure that one day you will have the bumper of car against your tires and its roof being stripped backwards by the pintle hook.
Look at the bright side. If it doesn't work, you can slide the bed all the way to the back and have room for an S318 shelter (Maybe S250) between the bed and the cab. Point the door curbside and you can brew up tunnel boxes where the bottom steps in.
No...if this don't work I'm pretty much screwed.
Well, actually I can still pull the converter dolly but the intent was to do away with that onus.
