Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
One of the trailers in that thread is mine, and posted for this very reason ! You can also review the complete original thread it was based on here, http://www.steelsoldiers.com/trailers/24414-m101-dump-bed.html
Thank you RCD. That was a very helpful and well-documented report in the other thread. You definitely answered a question I had on my mind, but would never try! So the bottom line is keep the load around manufacturer's recommendations.
My 105 was re-designed to dump.
I haven't before, but now I mustBut many of us do it. It is a happy coincidence that the folding drawbars lift the bed. One day the bracket may break and then we are screwed, but I have yet to hear it happen to anybody.
So there is no need to mention this every time somebody brings up dumping the trailer!
Been wondering how that project was going for you !
When are you going to get her put back together and try it with a load ?
The last guy I know that made hydraulic dump out of an M101, folded it in half, with a load on it. They are just not built heavy enough for that.
I meant, it failed.
We get it, advertisements are annoying!
