I may have run across a WWII pioneer shovel if you need one. I bought it to use on the Goat but once I started working on it I figured it was older than my application. It's from the Wooden Shovel and Tool Co from Miami, OH and what I could find on line appears to be 1 of 14 WWII suppliers of pioneer tools. The reason I thought it was an older item is that the handle is all wood (other than a pin) until you get to the grip and then there's just a metal plate with 2 wings sandwiched between the wood. All the other shovels I've been able to ID had a metal portion going down from the grip at least part of the way to the shovel head.
It's certainly not mint and may be too rough for your beauty but it's there if needed. I guess I'll go back to a regular M-Series shovel although this one has a much more pronounced neck and fit better.
