Why not get a big tarp & some poles & setup a pavilion over your engine bay? That should allow an oil change.
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!

Have you changed the fuel filters yet? They will need it.Installed screw on oil filter kit with Wix filters. 6 gallons of fresh oil and she's running great.
Let us know how these fit, need to change the ones on my truck.Got my new shock absorbers today.... I *think* the hardware stack is right. Gabriel Ultras. $100 out the door for the set at the 'Zone.
I'll be installing them on Saturday, after work. So far, they are looking promising.... I've had them on other big trucks (Freightliner, Volvo) and they did well. I have also used them on my "little" trucks- 1975 F250 CrewCab, 1987 F-150, several Rangers and a couple of Jeeps. Always been pleased with them.Let us know how these fit, need to change the ones on my truck.
G'day everyone,.....
Went to do the service today as its not raining,.....
Have I got the service done?
Nope!
I finally opened the 60ltr drum of oil for the service and installed the new hand pump.
Pump works great, really smooth and only 5-6 full strokes moves 5ltrs of oil.
That mean I will need 5 and a bit of my 5ltr oil containers to do the oil change.
No problem there,....
So I have that side sorted,....
I even have a new 50ltr bin to drain the old engine oil into.
So now to get the sump drain nut undone,....
Can I get the **** thing to move,... **** NO!
I put an extension bar on and still can't shift it,...
Darn thing must be welded on!
Tried everything I have at hand short of explosives.
I will take it to work tomorrow and see if the mechanics there can get it loose then I can do the service done boxing day.
I am going to a friends for dinner tomorrow night straight after work and that will go into the night.
Christmas day I am going to visit my Mother who is house sitting so that only leaves me boxing day.
Aussie.
I'll have to look. I bought them two years ago and only installed them last spring. The thread pitch is 14 , but I cannot remember the hole size. 1.0" or 1.25" ?@ Rustystud. You wouldn't happen to have the part number for those quick drains, by chance, would you? NAPA runs on part numbers here in town, not "specs" like 1/2x24, for example.
You've been busy. This thread has been cooking the better part of a decade. Good job and of course, Merry Christmas.I have been working my way through this thread from the beginning and am to page 767 so far, it is Christmas morning 2018 so Merry Christmas all and thanks for the time everyone has taken to share their knowledge, ideas, mishaps, and so on to help others enjoy/survive this hobby/affliction.
Look for a Parker 24v in tank pump, they are on epayDidn't realize my fuel pump wasn't work....It spins up nice and loud, but after replacing my fuel filters, I couldn't prime the lines. Took the output hose off the pump and sure enough, nothing is moving. I removed the pump and took apart what I could. Pretty clogged up!

I think a tank cleaning is in order too! I cleaned up the pump and all of its parts, but it still won't turn the impellers. The motor spins, but that's all. I guess a new pump is in order.
From reading the many threads on this site, I tried looking for a Parker pump, with no luck. Looks like Olympic Controls still makes them. No ones answering the phones over there, so I guess they're still enjoying Christmas break.
total cost is $#85.65 and worth every penny. We all already paid for them to be in Bradley fighting vehicles.Look for a Parker 24v in tank pump, they are on epay
What's the part number for that fuel pump?? I'd like to get one for my truck.total cost is $#85.65 and worth every penny. We all already paid for them to be in Bradley fighting vehicles.
They were 50 bucks then the SS bought them all. Maybe I should I put my last one in the classifieds?
