But seriously, if the lights are on but dim that indicates a resistance somewhere along the line. Corrosion at a splice point or a connector would be what I would look for.
I found the issue. Two 1435 wires were disconnected. After looking through the TM those were ground wires. Hooked them to a good ground, and surprise surprise, everything works correctly. Bad grounds and no grounds do funny things!
