MEP-805B low oil pressure issue

Generator starts, runs, and produces power fine. Only has 170 hrs on it. After about 4 hours of use it will shut down showing the low oil pressure fault. Oil pressure gauge shows pressures ranging from 47-52 psi when the generator is warm. Any suggestions on what this issue might be. Is the sender going bad?

I have not put a manual oil pressure gauge on it. I’ll do that. Do I need one with a “T” on it so the generator will continue to run?
New to the military generator world so forgive me for my ignorance.
Yes, otherwise Genset won’t even start
Also check oil pressure transducer opening for dirt accumulation since you gotta take it out anyway

Hold on a second. There should be a place on the right hand side where the AOAP, (Army Oil Analyses Program) Has a valve to take oil samples. Take a look. Some gen sets have it and some do not. It its on there, simply rigg the meter to it. In any case, there should be a port, with a plug in it that you can use.

Look to the left of the two red MPU connectors. See a data plate hanging by a wire tie? Thats a AOAP valve. No, this is not a MEP-805. But most of the sets should have something like it. I am too dumb to figure out how to mark the picture, so you just got to go with the flow.

@Guyfang in the end he probably is going to wind up taken the opt out to check for dirt accumulation on/in the small pinhole of transducer.
We found this to be the most common source of malfunction of the opt.

Oil Sludge tends to accumulate on / in the pinhole opening.
The diameter of the pinhole varies by transducer.
Brake Cleaner or Carb Cleaner is usually sufficient to clear out the pinhole and the internal cavity

Note: the transducer in this picture is just for demonstration. The transducer on your Genset may look different or has more electrical connections, but will have a pinhole in the threaded part
