Despite the good advise, warnings and predictions from the experienced, the sages and from naysayers, I placed myself squarely in the Netherlands of 1st Deuce Purgatory.
Many forum contributors recommend 1st truck purchases be from from private parties.
I did not.
Alot of the good people on this forum recommend I buy locally.
I did not.
I thought I bought smart and received a good deal.
The following weeks auctions proved otherwise.
I thought the reports of the new speedy EUC process would whisk me away to MV ownership nirvana.
It did not.
I figured the friendly, name brand "For Profit" insurance companies would like to underwrite my new truck.
They do not.
I thought the more specialized collector/historic MV insurance companies would take my premium money.
Nope.
I thought I could negotiate favorable transport costs to move my purchase to my storage place.
I thought wrong.
Yet, in spite of the obvious gap between expectations and reality, besides the inability to produce results, I am absolutely thrilled to be joining y'all in MV ownership.
Most of this crap in my head is the nervous chatter from waiting: Second guessing the specific purchase and the whole reasoning for purchasing any truck in the first place for that matter.
I'll work through the EUC process, taking command of the communications and updates through calls and chat. Receiving a invoice marked "Paid" from GL will put me back in action and the chatter will stop.
I'll find an insurance carrier who says yes to my needs and situation.
I'll pay what it takes to get the truck home.
Just thought you might all relate to the waiting period thoughts of a first time buyer and want to reflect on your experiences.
THANKS TO YOU ALL. YOUR EXPERIENCE AND GENEROSITY ARE A VALUED CONTRIBUTION.
