np208 seal questions

The rear seal at my slip yoke is leaking. So is the seal between the main and rear housings. I just need a proper part # for the rear output seal, and I need to know if the rear housing can just simply be un bolted. I believe the rear housing appears to just be sealed with regular rtv. Can I just remove the rear housing after having removed the slip yoke, clean, and re seal with rtv?

Rear output seal is a simple pull and replace job. It should take you more time to pull the drive shaft than it will to replace the seal.

Well, 205/208 use the same output seal on the CUCV.
Seal part is 9449, timken part 9449 is direct replacement.

The attached PDF explains the rebuild of the t-case. Should be a simple unbolt, clean, rtv, and rebolt for the rear housing. Don't hold me to that as I just glanced at the guide. Good luck with your repairs.

So when putting the seal in do you have to lube its driveshaft(yolk) contacting surface with ATF, or leave it dry as possible? And trick with the speedo cable or does it screw right back on without any problems?
