Actually I ran my bud nuts up on the studs first then mounted my rim then used the larger nuts to hold the rim on mine.
if you read the threads that were refered above by gringeltaube, people don't suggest doing that cause it holds the rim from mating with the hub surface flat.

My counter sink across the flat is .2 wide .so it is a large 1.Also if you really think about it the large tractors like my m920 are the same way in the rears . Tire than bud nut , then next tire, then big nut. They have been building trucks with the tires mounted like that for who knows how long with no issues . The Bud nuts are all cnc machined and are kept to tight tolerance.

I see what your concern is. I had already machined mine down on the other beval so thats why mine doesnt sit out . I did it before i installed them so I didnt think about it anymore after the fact. It still doesnt change the fact that at least on a rear mount its a proven system.

yes if done as it should be, the first rim is tight against the hub, then the bud nut with the outer bevel in the countersunk hole of the first rim and the inner bevel is in the countersunk hole of the second rim and the lug nut on the out side, this set up puts both rims Tight together and tight against the hub, will not be if non moded bud nuts are used on the inside of singles, the best way is to install LONGER STUDS

does anyone have the part number for longer studs?? I just went to the truck shop and all they could find was a stud that had to be custom made by eculid, cause they dont stock them. thanks kyle
