    My first Russian vehicle

I think it's a 151, judging by lower grille and fenders. The rear box with windows placed like that was often an engineer vehicle, however could have been an NBC-hardened commo shelter. Side note, a lot of the later NBC-sealed vehicles had windows along the top sides of the box.

    Another M1010 owner

Wow, thank you! Timely info as I keep going back to my headlight adjustment and keep getting frustrated without solving the problems. I've tried many suggestions but just never can get the hardware to work and stay in place correctly. I am going to try this for sure.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I’m very pleased to report that as of about 10 minutes ago, all of the rust holes I found in the floor of my wife’s M1009 have been repaired. My goal was to finish the entire floor before winter, so now it’s on to painting and lining the rear areas. Driver and passenger position were done...

Can't Find Info On My M998

It's true, at least in the past. That was a common way to set up a manual decon apparatus on Warsaw Pact armored vehicles. At least the BMP and BTR series IFV/APCs.

Methinks he means the satellite radio.

CUCV Rocker panel no welding install

(Not sure if the quote feature worked from the above post) Any updates? I may be going down this road soon, myself.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Finally got around to cutting out some floor rust and patching it over. Thankfully this is by far the worst spot on the whole vehicle. I lack welding skills so 3/16" rivets were the order of the day. Rust shows in last photo on the black spray-on coating due to putting the carpet back down for a...

    Newb from upstate New York

Wow, welcome back from your friends to the east of you! Usually a decent M1008 or two on Vermont or Plattsburgh area Craigslist, they pop up quite often. Other variants not so much.

Need help finding correct tie rod for M1009

I am about to tackle my passenger side tie rod end...are those numbers good for fitting the OEM tie rod?

    Mystery military trailer

EDIT: I spoke too soon, or rather at the same time that everyone else above did :) Looks like an early M1101. I actually think a member on here who lives near me has one...

    M1008 with TOW System

I was just an 11B at the time so I rarely had anything to do with the TOW, but I recall when we were playing the role of an armor-killer team going against OPFOR at Fort Drum, we had a HMMWV with a TOW in the bed. What I couldn't get over was how the whole thing was precariously stabilized (for...

Wow, sorry to hear about the mold infestation. At least you folks are all healthy and happy and active.

    Dash Pad Replacement

I searched and found this thread instead of starting a new one. What was the original dash cover color on an M1009? Mine is grey and appears to be original, or at least I see no evidence that it was ever removed. It is cracked and weathered and I'm considering replacing it this year. Looking...

Proper gear oil for Russian AFV?

I could never recall the name or number for it, but there's something floating around out there known as the Technical Intelligence Bulletin (the full one, not condensed or consolidated) that was sort of an owner's manual type thing. At least I saw them in the Army, not sure where else. There's...

    Cape Cod HMMWV

I knew someone who resided in Falmouth or thereabouts who had a woodland camo 2-man, waaaay back when, circa 1997-1999, his initials are RJM, he was in a different company to mine (Guard) and drove his POV when we were training at Camp Edwards or Boston area. Lost touch with him a long time ago...

Military HMMWV Vs Civilian Hummer H1

I'm a supervisor in one of the sister agencies to the one in question. As far as I know (and I've been around the world a time or ten), no DHS agencies use the military-spec HMMWV in CONUS. The only agencies I've seen who do are USMS and "the Eye."

    M1009 Window Defogging

Any solutions besides installing an air conditioner? With temperature swings and humidity changes lately, every window behind me has been fogging up almost constantly. Nothing seems to help, I tried opening the windows slightly and opening the little vent window. Outdoor temps have been...
