Had this same problem today with one. Turns out, whoever put this starter on put one of the small white wires on the wrong lug. Luckily I had another 804a to compare to to find it. Only took me an hour of pulling my hair out and cussing to figure it out lol

Also, Superman, do you have a complete voltage regulator replacement kit for a 804a machine?

So I'm having this exact issue on a 804a. I'm looking at the TMs and don't see these 4 parts that must match. What are they called in the TM so I know which ones to compare?

I'll try this when it cools down a little bit and report back. I have an 805a parts machine. I'll go see if it still has the relays in it and the same master switch and just try switching them out of cleaning the contacts doesn't work

The engine would still at least crank though if it was just the magnetic pickup. Mine just clicks when I try to start it with the master switch. If I jump the starter solenoid or use the dead crank, it will turn the engine all day so I know it's not my batteries. I thought maybe the issue was...

Have a 2002 805B that won't start even when I spray ether. I just bought this machine and I've never seen it run. Has 550 hours on it. I've replaced the fuel filter, manual primed it, ensured fuel was getting to the injection pump and still nothing. Doesn't even cough like it wants to start...

Got a MEP-806A in and it didn't have the temperature gauge in it. Bought a replacement gauge but can't find in the TMs or on here which post on the gauge each wire connects to. Does anyone have some guidance or reference for this? Thanks?

Back again with another generator. This time I have a MEP-805B that has a red error light in the back pane. Looked it up in the TM and it says CMOS voltage is not sufficient. My guess is that due to this fault is why I'm not getting any hertz or voltage. None of the TMs have any troubleshooting...

great news! I got the 805a running and registering the correct hertz and bolts. I ended up swapping out the magnetic pickup and adjusting and readjusting it until I got between 2 and 3 vac on wires 16 and 17 on the governor control board. Did that and I could immediately tell when I started it...
