    Overheating

No, I didn't have the heads machined. I have them off now and the headgasket and everything else looks just fine, but I will have them magnafluxed and machined this time around. I was wondering if the deck of my block could have cracked since I have the thin deck block, but I haven't seen any...

    Overheating

For my anti freeze I have used John Deere and Texaco antifreeze with a Napa rust inhibitor, so I don't think cavitation is the problem, I've seen 7.3 IDI diesels with cavitation and they would suck in coolant through the cylinder wall and burn it, and they would put steam out the exhaust pipe, I...

    Overheating

Thanks for the replies. My truck is still over heating after trying everything, I have flushed the radiator repeatedly, and the water pump and themostat are fine. I have taken the thermostat out and ran the truck with out the fan belt to check for bubbles and there are a few that come out of...

    Overheating

My M35 has just started over heating. Its done it twice in the last two days, but it has been around 100 degrees here.I checked the thermostat, I put new headgaskets in about 3 monthes ago, and have retorqued the heads 3 times, The truck will overheat in less than 10 miles of high rpm driving...

THE MONSTERS ARE HERE!!! Huge turbos for the kits... w/ pics

I just got done installing the headgaskets on my truck, I was suprised at well engineered the mutifuel was, It has 14 large studs in each head (head studs are capable of much more clamping force than bolts) and the studs are very large, on the 5.9 Cummins you can replace the head bolts with...

    Head Gasket

I just got the truck back together and running, but I need to know if I need to retorque the heads when hot, I followed an instruction sheet that came with the gasket set and torqued the heads to 157 ftlb, but it says not to retorque the gasket on a hot engine, however in the Memphis Equipment...

    Head Gasket

I talked to the people at memphis equipment and they told me that all the multifuels could use the new gasket and that the fire rings were built in the new gasket ,but this is the first time I have messed with multifuel so I don't know.

    Head Gasket

I turned the fuel up until I was out of threads on the screw, probly 10 or more turns, Egt never went over 1100, I was doing highway driving with some stop and go driving,I didn't notice the gasket when driving but when I got home it was spraying oil out the back of the head.Does your block have...

    Head Gasket

I have a LD-465-1 and I just blew the headgasket ,because I turned the pump all the way up, added a D turbo and was running 25' of timing, so I expected it ,but could I run a LDS gasket as a upgrade, and Is there a difference in the ld, ldt and lds blocks. I was under the impression that there...

    Motor Swapping

I've always thought the 6CTA 8.3 liter would be an awsome engine to swap, I like it because it has wet liners where as the 5.9 doesn't, and its only about 4'' longer but is much more exspensive than the 5.9, but I don't think you would ever wear out the 5.9 in a duece anyway

    LD vs. LDT Pistons

It looks like the hole would be in the middle of the back of the fender, or is it slightly offset to the edge of the fender, thanks for the help

    LD vs. LDT Pistons

my truck had a muffler with the exaust dumped between the tandems , but is now straight piped, I wanted to add a stack with the turbo but don't know exactly where to drill the hole.

    LD vs. LDT Pistons

Does anybody know what the difference between LD465 pistons and LDT465 pistons is, Is the piston bowl shaped differently for the turbo charged motors, I'm about to put a D turbo on my LD motor and was wondering what exactly is different about the two motors

    LDT 465 runs "funny"

my truck does the exact same thing except at around 2200-2400 Rpm I have chaged the filters and run alot of fuel conditioner but it still does it, I thought it might be an injector but it runs smooth at all other times

    Turn signal help

I noticed the other day that my rear right turn signal stopped working, the bulbs are fine ,I'm not getting power to it, I tested the wires upto the flasher box, and I noticed that when the left turn signals are on 2 wires carry the flashing current one for the front and one for the back turn...

K&N Air filter for the deuce

I read yor post and you are right the stock filter should flow plenty of air , but what I don't like is the engine breathing through the small hole in the canister, if you put your hand near it, it pulls a lot of vaccum, thats got to be a restriction, the stock filter canister is the...

K&N Air filter for the deuce

I think an AFE filter plumbed to outside air or in to the cab would reduce EGTS a decent amount, I use one on my Cummins with twin turbos, and it flows very well and its seems to filter very well also, of course any filter would be better than the huge stock filter with the engine sucking...

Anyone know who made the LDT turbo? How about bore x stroke

Its no wonder these engines blow head gaskets with the timing they run, My LD465 runs 25 degrees BTC and that will create a lot of added combustion chamber pressure, a stock Cummins 5.9BTA runs 12 degrees and many people bump it up to 16 for better power, sled pullers and drag racers do 20 and...
