    Transmission problem

I don't think reverse or first is synchronized, when I shift into reverse the shifter doesn't ''click'' into reverse it will sometimes jump out without the engine running and the truck sitting still, the shifter seems to be pushed out with the reverse shifter spring, what ever holds the shifter...

    Transmission problem

When I use reverse the transmission will jump out of gear, so I pulled the top and everything looked good, what would cause this

why couldn't the coolant passages from the head be blocked off, they are easy to get to and it looks like a couple small pieces of flat steel could be made to take the coolant manifods place, that with an intercooler would drop air temps. I think a wastegated Holset HX-40 or Schwitzer S-300G...

    Side exit exhaust

I am looking at a 1970 m35a2 with a LD-465, the truck doesn't have a stack, its exhaust goes to a muffler under the cab and exits between the rear duals, I haven't seen a truck like this, and was wondering if it was common and why doesn't it have a stack

    1970 M35A2

Thanks for the replies, I have been seeing turbo charged trucks that were a few years older and thought the military had put an old motor in it to get it to run, but it is a nice running and looking truck I just thought it may have been rigged up.

    1970 M35A2

I have found a 1970 model m35 but it has an LD 465 non turbo engine, didn't the LDT 465 1c come in this late model of truck.

Some 2 stroke Detroits ran a super charger and a turbo but the super charger was only there to blow the exhaust gases out since they were 2 stroke

On a gas burner pre ignition can happen but its not likely on a diesel, if the timing is to far advaced then the motor would kick back on start up but the pump gear would have to be taken off and just never lined back up, a gas burner will take in air and fuel at the same time and then compress...

A more efficient turbo would spool faster and push more air at a lower psi , High boost isn't everything infact it can hurt power if the turbo is out of its efficient map, it will start super heating the air which will raise psi, but lower the actual volume of air. I run twins to keep EGTs down...

Better milage and more power would always be better, I think advancing the timing and a more efficient turbo such as a Holset HX35 or HX40 would help, the mutifuel isn't a very clean burning engine, and all that smoke is wasted fuel, custom EDM injectors would help the most but would be extremly...

There are a lot more people that due turbo diesel performance besides Bank$ who seems extremly over priced for the horsepower added. Scheiddiesel.com can make almost anything you want, turbos injectors pumps, and camshafts but I don't think the multifuel would appreciate 500HP for to long

    More Power

thanks for the replies, good info.

bigger engine, and different tranny in deuce?

I don't have any pictures but to see twins you can look at www.piersdiesel.com or www.powerbypoole.com they have nice kits and piers can modify your turbos to spool faster and run lower EGTs

    More Power

How exactly did you turn up the fuel, and thanks for all info I appreciate it

    More Power

Has anyone turned up the 250 Cummins or know how to, I think they would be easy to turbo charge since the 855 uses the HT3B turbo and the block and heads are basicly the same, You could maybe add an injector pump and injectors from a 444 Cummins or something simmilar, I know a button can be...

bigger engine, and different tranny in deuce?

A 5.9 is all ways a good choice but the 8.3 is only 4'' longer, and with the p-pump you could get some SERIOUS horsepower , but the 5.9 would do all you want

    m 812

Im not sure on the hours but I think it was below 500 I'll check, It has dual 14.00x20s, and power steering but I don't know how to post pics but it doesn't have any dents or deep rust, and it has a hard top

    m 812

I am looking at buying a 1971 m812 with 7211 miles, the truck looks to be in great condition and is used by a fire dept., it has a water tank which the fire dept is keeping so it won't have a bed, they are asking 4000 OBO, of course I will try to talk them down but does this sound reasonable
