    taboo to talk

OK, original purchase price. But, and this is a HUGE butt, what do they pay the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th purchaser down the line? At that point there is likely thousands if not 10s of thousands of dollars worth of upgrades, retrofits or mods. All it would take then is a savy lawyer and a lot of mad...

    M923A0/A1 vs. M923A2? (Possible Future M923A0 owner)

The best thing I can recommend is this: Go try to find and test drive both engine configurations yourself. This will give you a personal feel for how they drive against each other. Then and only then you will have a better understanding of the performance differences between the two. Most...

    taboo to talk

In my state (Utah) the DMV has decided that if the vehicle (HMMWV or any) is capable of passing the state inspection program (which is strict on safety equipment) it can be registered as "Road Worthy." Now, what this means is there are several upgrades that will need to be done. A good example...

    HEMTT Insurance

This thread is going to be closed before any real info is posted. My HEMTT isn't insured yet but I have had a quote of $95 a month, no parades, and 1000 miles a year. I think it's high.

    M985 article on TFLtruck.com

Yes, an M985 is just a heavier crane. I have no idea what a "Pacer" is.

Chasing the Gremlin of FMTV trucks.... Electrical issues

That guy obviously drinks way too much coffee. :)

    M985 article on TFLtruck.com

I was ask to write a little article about my M985 by TFLtruck.com so I figured I would give it a shot. I am not a writer by profession so they did edit it a little but I think it turned out well. Here is a link to it for those of you that may be interested...

    Air brake maintenance and repair

Is there a Tech School nearby you? If so inquire about any class' that pertain to air brakes or semi truck servicing.

    That didn't take long.

    M925A2 Rebuild by Red River

I have seen RRAD trucks sell out of Utah through GP in the $10k-15K range. The people paying that obviously have no clue as to what they are buying in my opinion.

    M925A2 Rebuild by Red River

Red River trucks only get rebuilt drive train components as needed. Otherwise they will get full service and inspection, new tires, repaint and any outstanding MWOs. Some of the other overhaul facilities will replace entire drivetrain with new or O/H'd on an overhaul. I have an M985 HEMTT that...

    Horn isn't working

Does anything pertaining to a Government procurement contract or property disposal make sense?

    Horn isn't working

Horn doesn't work if the lights are off. At least that was how my M1031 worked.

Can Propane Cylinders replace the Ether Cylinders for cold start?

I don't think propane will work as starting fluid because when it is compressed it turns back to a liquid state instead of combusting, that is why propane and natural gas diesels have had ignition systems installed. MAPP I have no idea about.

    In frame rebuild ?

FMTV/LMTVs are not for me. Too problematic and parts are a little harder to get and more expensive. But that's my opinion.

Auction date changes, MK48 and Hemtt recall

HEMTTs are now coded demill Q3 which requires mutilation and no salvaging of parts. You may be able to purchase one from a private individual who already owns one but I would check on exporting one legally before forking out the money.

    M1123 Holes

Silicone and duct tape, problem solved. :)

Auction date changes, MK48 and Hemtt recall

You are talking about the U.S. Government, logic does NOT apply.

Auction date changes, MK48 and Hemtt recall

Buy away. It is very unlikely they will recall the trucks that have been sold. It is also looking like no more MK48/HEMTT/LVS/PLS will be sold in any state other than scrap as the demill code is now Q3 which requires mutilation and no salvage of parts. Now, that being said some could find there...
