Light Bulb Numbers List for CUCV's

OK, done with the relamp and reassembling my dash. However, I thought it a good idea to test before completing the reassembly task. So now I have a quick question. All lights are bright lights (pics to follow) but when waiting for the glow plugs (Wait Light flashing), I just noticed that my...

    Speedo Cable Lube

I took my dash apart to clean, repaint, polish, lube and relamp with LED's. I am putting it back together and I just wondered if there was any lube required for the speedo cable. I am lubing up all cables and slide pieces under the dash (where needed) and thought I'd ask before proceeding further.

    Trans Leak

Thanks Keith. Where do you get the tool? That seal looks tough to remove without it and I will be doing while the trans is in the truck.

    Driveshaft

Thanks Porky. I did some further reading and that's exactly what I have. I guess the Spicer replacements (5-795X) have some sort of "inside" retaining clip, which I'l try and figure out how to do. I am sure it will be fun removing them, but I also read that sometimes they can just be removed...

    Driveshaft

OK, I think I purchased the worng U-Joints. The 5-1350X is for a manual trans. It says I need 5-795X. Both are non greaseable, but maybe one is a different size? Anyway, it looks like my local Autozone has 2 in stock, so I'll get them in the morning. However, all the U-joints I have looked...

    Trans Leak

Awesome, thanks Porky. So I assume I just remove that nut, pull the arm off and fish the old seal out, then reinstall?

    Driveshaft

I am working on the underside of my truck. When able, I will be replacing the rear seal on the trans. I'll need to remove the rear driveshaft in order for this to happen and while I am at it, I was going to replace the U-joints (Spicer 5-1350X). I have viewed a few videos and thought I would...

    Trans Leak

OK, I am trying to fix all leaks and drips coing from my truck. My driveway doesn't like it and neither does the wife. I am addressing two so far and while a friend of mine was checking out the underneath of my 09, he noticed a leak from this area: It is the shift arm for the trans and I...

    Original, Spicy or Extra Crispy?

Not afraid to make mods that: 1. Are in the interest of safety and reliability 2. Comfort and looks, as long as it doesn't change the intent of what the truck was went to be. 4. I like mods that are subtle and not readily noticeable (like LED lighting) Either way, I like my truck as it...

    Diesel Prices.....WTF ????

Finally was able to get in a car and take a ride for longer than 15 minutes (recent major back surgery). Wife drove us up to NH to see one of our boys on Friday. When we left CT, diesel was $5.19 per. Drove back on Saturday. Got off our exit and, at the same gas stations, the price per had...

Light Bulb Numbers List for CUCV's

Thanks JP. Yeah, that guy is about two hours north of me, in Haverhill MA. I just got done watching a lot of his videos. Straight forward and easy to understand. As for the TM's, I have a complete library (even two originals (w/updates). I have been going through them over the last week and...

Light Bulb Numbers List for CUCV's

OK, one last (hopefully) question. According to the video, a 168 bulb goes into the GEN 1 holder and a 194 bulb goes into the GEN 2 holder. It that correct? For reference, does anyone know where is this (and other lighting) tidbit of information kept? Waiting on my red and yellow LED's to...

Vacuum valve 'adapter' - What does it do?

Yup, kept the hoses. But as long as I am mucking around under the hood, I figured I'd replace some of the older stuff. I am going to reuse that blue poly though.
