True failure rates of the 6CTA8.3L injector pump?

I can only remember maybe one or two IP failures in the time I’ve been lurking around here, verse’s probably a hundred sucking air and another hundred with bad batteries. Sounds like he covered most of his bases except fuel pressure due to bad overflow valve, lift pump, sucking air before the...

    Rate this front bumper modification...

Not good if you do much off road, the approach angle on the winch trucks is already terrible. Although if you’re dragging the front bumper a lot, you need to start watching your fuel tanks so you don’t rip it off.

Road Trip - OR to UT/AZ and back

Cottonwood Canyon Rd is a nice drive up through the Grand Staircase towards Bryce if it’s dry enough and not washboarded too bad.

    Aftermarket alternator

IIRC 24v 28si is correct. This is the cummins bracket Would supper easy to make, let me know if you need any dimensions.

    Aftermarket alternator

Any chance you’re making any trips out east in the near future? I have one you can have that “should” be good on my other a2 that has a dropped valve. If not, I need to find a way to get out your direction one of these days and buy some of your “useless” stuff anyhow!

    Electrical Issues

So guessing a M929 or M929A1… disregard the question about the over temp light, I miss-remembered it being tied into the PCB. Not sure if I’m quite following your post, but you have to jumper the C&D terminals in the cannon plug for the PCB, then jumper the starter solenoid and the truck will...

What truck are we working on, and does it have an engine over temp light in the dash behind the steering wheel?

Things I need to do before I drive my M925a2 home

. Also, take a peek at the harmonic damper, and make sure the pulley is not walking off and it’s flush across the face.

    New member hello

Hopefully it’s not like a stowaway cat and shows back up in your dive way two weeks later!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Welcome back! Sorry to hear you had to give up your truck. My wife has a 2012 JK she bough new. It’s been a half decent vehicle once Chrysler got their cylinder head issues figured out on the 3.6. If you have any clock spring related problems, check with the dealer, it will most likely still...

Things I need to do before I drive my M925a2 home

Assuming the truck is coming from Eastern surplus, see if they have a marginal but serviceable spare that they’ll throw in for an extra. If the batteries are older I would consider grabbing a couple new from them or nearby even if they are for another vehicle or piece of equipment you own that...

    3053 Transmission

I believe it’s 300 pound feet max, maybe @rustystud or @m-35tom can show documentation?

Hi. Another new member, wanting to say hello...:)

By the way what year is your school bus, and are you sure it has a 454 in it?

Hi. Another new member, wanting to say hello...:)

Also, 8 wheeler you’re referring to is probably a hemtt. Cool, but hard to come by, very expensive, not very practical for your application, as well as being as safe as a rocket.

Hi. Another new member, wanting to say hello...:)

Welcome from SE Indiana! Sad but true, as usual Karl is correct… Just the lack of having to do the brake mods you listed would be worth going with a newer truck. Not sure how much you want to extend the frame, but check out/for the less common M927, M928 and M934 trucks. Don’t get too hung...

Has the trans fluid debate been settled yet?

Governor filter is just a serviceable screen that can just be cleaned and reused. I have an extra around somewhere if you find out something bad has happened to yours…

New Deuce owner and need help badly

If you know what your doing and have a fairly heavy pickup, dragging it a mile might not be out of the question either.

New Deuce owner and need help badly

Just drag it off the trailer preferably slightly up hill with a long strap, chain, rope, or towbar and soldier B to hold the steering wheel and working the brake.

    m35a2 driver seat

Found it! If IRCC he did an excellent job of hiding most of the components in otherwise “unusable” space. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/supplemental-electric-air-compressor.164188/

Expedient Refueling System ExtremeAir Reciprocating 24V Extreme Outback This is a good deal on this. No idea about the seller though? @Valence did an excellent write up on his install that you need to check out and he needs to give us an update as well[emoji6]
