M1009 Civi Electrical Trailer Connection Harness Questions

Thanks cucv1833. The trailer hookup one had one I am looking for. I just need to make sure I am connecting the correct wires (the 4 black and 4 red ones) to the correct places on the 7 pin connector and I think my 1009 will be ready to tow my civi boat trailer.:) Anyone know what each of the...

M1009 Civi Electrical Trailer Connection Harness Questions

I have the parts already and I like to try and do things myself, when I can. Also, I am too **** cheap to buy the adapter :o. Plus, if the voltage is 24v at the connector, I still need to drop it down to 12v.

M1009 Civi Electrical Trailer Connection Harness Questions

OK, yes, I used the search function and I think I found what I was looking for, but just in case..... I am trying to fabricate a harness that plugs into the mil spec trailer connector on the rear of my M1009 so I can just plug in my civi boat trailer when ever I want, but at the same time...

    hummwv wheels on a m1009

But are the newer 16 and 17 inch rims the proper offset for an M1009 ?? I would go that route but from what I read, the newer rims don't have the proper offset.

    DogHead Relay Mod Backfire?

I did the mod and the first relay was bad out of the box. Then, after swapping in another relay (from NAPA), it still wouldn't start. Found out the reason after I checked the wires. One had partially pulled out of the connector and wasn't making contacting. The mod works, you just have to...

    M-1009 cucv roof rack

Someone on here was going to build them. A search should turn up the post. I don't know how far he got with the testing and selling them.

    Diy rock sliders

On your bumper project, how about incorporating a nice thick winch plate? I am sure that would sell quit a few of the bumpers. I'd be interested.

    cucv mechanic

IMHO, this would be a good "sticky" somewhere. List trusted CUCV Mechanics, by state/location to help all of us who sometimes don't have time to do things on our trucks. Just a thought...Yes/No???

    85' M1009 build thread

I like what you have done. I really like the fold down police spotlight and want to add one to my truck. Do you have any interior/exterior close-up pics of the install? What model light is it? Does it interfere a lot with forward visibility ? Thanks.

Little Bit of Smoke in the Morning, is it Normal??

Thanks All. She smokes for just about 5-10 seconds or so, nothing more, so I'll assume I'm good to go. My TDI just did it this morning, but I think it was because it was about 15 degrees out. I love diesels !

Little Bit of Smoke in the Morning, is it Normal??

When I start my 09 up in the morning, when it is below 35-40, she blows a bit of smoke. Just for a second or so, and it is bluish/white. It also smells like unburnt fuel. Is this normal? Everything else seems to be working well. Thanks.

    M1009: Which Hitch???

This is the hitch I put on mine. I removed (and kept) the mil spec pintle and put this one on, which has a pintle function plus a two inch ball on it. It bolted right up to the existing mount and I got it at a 4x4 place, Truckin America. Works great and tows both military and civilian...

    Cucv License Plate

Here is how I mounted mine. Wired it up via tapping into the tail light wiring. Works great and is pretty much out of the way. Oh, I got it at Truckin America. It is for trailers, but it fit in that space perfectly. Drilled a few holes, used the self tapping screws, ran the wires through a...

    Paint Question

These are all I could get right now. Cell phone, but they give you a rough idea. I wanted a darker color, but this is what I received. Hoping to repaint a darker grey and do a grey and black camp theme.

Cheap and Easy Winter Grill Cover for my CUCV

What I like about my solution is that you can remove/reinstall (as long as you don't cut the tie wraps) each piece individually if it gets warmer out or your truck gets a little too hot. Plus, you can reuse the pipe insulation year after year, just add tie wraps as necessary 2cents. The price...

Cheap and Easy Winter Grill Cover for my CUCV

Cash is tight and I am picking and choosing things needed for the truck, all the time looking for cost effective ideas/things to use as substitutes. Since I can't afford that sweet canvas winter cover for my 09, I took a page out of the VW TDI forum and did the following. It may not be as...
